Bill asked me the other day, did I regret having kids as early as I did and not taking the time then to do the things that I really wanted to do (travel, explore etc) when I was younger. Some days I think the answer would be yes. On the other hand, when we retire at 50 years old, we won't still have teens living at home like many of our friends. Kait will be 29, Bev will be 26 and our "baby", Scott, will be 24. We will be able to sell the house we bought for less than $100 K (BEFORE the market went insane) at a huge profit and move away to a little place on our own in a less populated area of the country. We can travel at our hearts content, entertain at will and I can be as lazy as I want to on the weekends.
In other news....it's FREAKING hot. I opened our electric bill today and almost had a fit. Our normal summer bill is generally "High" at $350 in July and August. This one was....sit down....$640.87. AND that is with Bill's medical discount. Without that it would have been $1000. I am wondering 2 things....we had the new roof put on last month...so I wonder if something happened to the unit. The other thing is my pregnant daughter...just how low was SHE setting the themostat. We're having a family meeting tomorrow to discuss electric usages.
Not much else going on. I am either coming down with tonsillitis or strep. I am kinda hoping it's strep...if I get the other again, the doctor s talking surgery to remove my tonsils....and on an adult it is supposed to be harder. I'm off to eat sherbit and suck ice cubes and Halls throat drops.

I hope you feel better, Charly!
And regarding your electric bill...insert the fainting emotion from Jix here!!! Holy crap!
Yes, Aleta, we do...otherwise I don't know what I would do. The A/C people were supposed to be here between 12-3. It's 4 now...they better show. Bill had a few extra overtimes on this last paycheck so I am going to go ahead and pay the balance on the electric bill. Otherwise, the adjustment they make in September will be a monthly payment of about $375 a month...yuck~
